"Pinky’s Blues is the follow up to Sue Foley’s award-winning album, The Ice Queen, (2018). Foley’s new album is a raw, electric guitar driven romp through the backroads of Texas blues, with Foley’s signature pink paisley Fender Telecaster, “Pinky,” at the wheel.
Foley won “Best Traditional Female (Koko Taylor Award)” at the 2020 Blues Music Awards in Memphis, was nominated for a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy), and she took home the award for “Best Guitar Player” at the Toronto Maple Blues Awards. For the last few years Foley and her band have kept a rigorous touring schedule across the USA, Canada and Europe. Eliane Correa is a Cuban Argentinian pianist, arranger and composer. She formed WARA alongside Juanita Euka, a Congolese Argentinian vocalist and Fedzilla, a Germano Chilean MC raised in the US. Venezuelan drummer Ernesto Marichales, English bass player Alley Loyd and Greek guitar master Alexis Kraniou complete the WARA engine. They skillfully blend their Latino roots with sounds of cumbia, hip-hop and dembow. Through their politically driven lyrics, they address the difficulties faced by the Latin community in the UK, the fetishisation of Cuban culture, and the stereotypes faced by immigrants worldwide. Fronted by three magnetic women, WARA is a band with a purpose.



Cuban-Latin band WARA addresses themes of identity, migration, and socio-politics through its musical fusion of Havana and London.
