Wara

Eliane Correa is a Cuban Argentinian pianist, arranger and composer. She formed WARA alongside Juanita Euka, a Congolese Argentinian vocalist and Fedzilla, a Germano Chilean MC raised in the US. Venezuelan drummer Ernesto Marichales, English bass player Alley Loyd and Greek guitar master Alexis Kraniou complete the WARA engine. They skillfully blend their Latino roots with sounds of cumbia, hip-hop and dembow. Through their politically driven lyrics, they address the difficulties faced by the Latin community in the UK, the fetishisation of Cuban culture, and the stereotypes faced by immigrants worldwide. Fronted by three magnetic women, WARA is a band with a purpose.
