1. What inspired you to create a film centered around a kidnapping?
Well, actually the idea wasn’t mine. It was actually one of my coworkers, Jerome Melly. He is an actor in several of my films. He wanted his first movie on this bill. So he pitched the idea to me and we created the story and found the right cast to be able to portray the roles.
2. Did any real-life stories inspire the film?
Actually, Jerome knew of people who had family members trafficking stories. So they kind of inspired him to pitch this idea to me and I was down for it.
3. Was there a particular message or theme you wanted to convey through this film?
The message for this movie is that trafficking still exists today. It doesn’t matter what town you live in or what city you live in. You always gotta be careful, be safe, keep both your eyes open and look both ways because they are not only trafficking women, they are trafficking men and kids as well. Stay alert and just know your surroundings.
4. As the director, writer, editor, and producer, what role did you enjoy the most?
The best part of filming Snatched is actually being the guy that’s on set filming the movie. When it comes to producing and editing, that’s when the work came into play. So my most fun time was actually out there with the cast, mingling, networking, and talking to them and getting the story told.
5. According to IMDb, you have worked on at least 25 projects since 2020. What’s your secret to being so productive?
The secret to filming is staying consistent and never quitting, never giving up, always trying to make sure when you start something, you finish something. So I’m that type of guy where if I start something, I want to complete it and get it done. I stay consistent because I love doing it. I don’t really do filming for the money. I do film because it’s a passion of mine. It’s what wakes me up and gets me going through the day. Knowing that I got these movies out of my head and I found my lane and my talent. That’s what keeps the passion. That’s what keeps the drive going.
6. Do you have any upcoming projects in the works?
I have several upcoming projects. Five of them are already completed. Spooky is a dark comedy that should be coming on Halloween. Broken by Love is a drama that should be released close to the end of this year. Double Karma is a comedy drama.
Two Lives. That’s a fantasy movie. I got the sequel to Money Calling 2, it should be coming out pretty soon. I’m working on No Negotiations now. We start production next week and I’m also gonna be shooting the sequel to Broken My Love at the end of this year. So we are writing up the script for that. We also have been filming a special movie, which is a comedy movie to make people laugh like crazy and we are calling it The Stimulus Check. That should be coming out next year because I still gotta film some more on that as well.
