Remember Captain Awesome? The “awesome” cardiologist from Chuck? Or maybe you remember him as Hank from the Passions soap opera? Ryan McPartlin is an actor who has taken on some notable roles. He has mostly spent time on the small screen on networks like Hallmark and NBC.

Ryan McPartlin is a family man and is happily married to Danielle McPartlin. The couple met while attending college and have been together ever since 2002. They have two sons together and have even started a business together.

3. He Co-founded Plate Therapy
Ryan McPartlin is not only a talented actor and model, but he is also an entrepreneur. He co-founded Plate Therapy with his wife, Danielle McPartlin. Plate Therapy is a meal delivery service that specializes in delivering healthy and organic meals to customers. Danielle led the charge to start the business after her own struggles with autoimmune disorders. Ryan jumped into the venture with his wife and now creates healthy meal options without gluten, dairy, soy or refined sugars.
4. He Was a Male Model for Abercrombie and Fitch
Before pursuing a career in acting, Ryan McPartlin worked as a male model for Abercrombie and Fitch. He modeled for the brand in the 2000s and was known for his fit physique and towering height. He left modeling to focus on acting, and did not enjoy the experience. He describes his time modeling as being on the “inside looking out”.

In addition to his acting and entrepreneurial ventures, Ryan McPartlin is also a certified personal trainer. His knowledge on fitness and health helped him in roles as Captain Awesome and as Hank Bennett in Passions.

6. Ryan McPartlin Was Almost a Superhero
Ryan McPartlin auditioned for the role of Captain America back in the early 2010s. Ultimately, of course, he lost the role to Chris Evans but that wasn’t his only time close to a superhero role. He also auditioned for the role of Superman in Superman Returns.
